Kim joined the VFW Auxiliary under the eligibility of her grandfather, WWII Veteran Jake Schroder. She is also the proud granddaughter of WWII Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient Anthony ‘Duke’ Gucwa and the proud daughter of a Vietnam Veteran. She was a Junior Girl many moons ago and has been a member of Auxiliary to Haspel Staab VFW Post 551 since their institution in 2023.

  

  In the short time since the Auxiliary was formed, she has served in many roles on all levels. She has been the Auxiliary Secretary and Treasurer for 551 since 2023, currently serves as the District 1 Junior Vice President and Secretary, and Department Chairperson for Veterans & Family Support. She was honored to start her run through the chairs and has been installed as Department Guard for the 2026/2027 year.
