Deanna Guyette

    Deanna Guyette, better known as DeeDee Guyette, has been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary for over 20 years.  She joined Dionne-Rumble Post 7227 Auxiliary, Carthage, New York, in 2000 under the eligibility of her father, Lawrence W. Biskey, a WWII Veteran.
    DeeDee has served the Auxiliary in many capacities and levels of the organization.  She is currently serving as Conductor in the Department of New York Auxiliary, while simultaneously fulfilling the duties of Department Webmaster, Department Auxiliary News Editor, and District 4 Treasurer.  In addition, DeeDee has been appointed as the National Legislative Ambassador for the 2024-2025 year.
    During her Auxiliary tenure, DeeDee earned many awards, to include National Mentor of the Year, Department Mentor of the Year, Department Auxiliary President of the Year, Auxiliary Member of the Year, and various Program Chairmanship awards.
    Aside from her VFW Auxiliary time, DeeDee volunteers with several community organizations.  Currently, DeeDee is serving on the North Country Veteran and Service Member Suicide Prevention Coalition.  Also, She and her husband Randy are the organizers of several major fundraisers for Hospice of Jefferson County.  Most notably, they led the Dick Guyette Golf Classic thru a 20-year span, raising over $265,000 for Hospice.  As a result of their efforts, the Guyettes were the recipients of the inaugural ‘Make Every Day Matter’ award from Hospice in 2020.
    DeeDee enjoyed a successful career in Information Technology for over 30 years.  She spent 10 years working for the Department of the Army, to include a tour in Germany during the Desert Storm conflict.  Then after moving to Carthage, she became a staff member of the General Brown Central School District and retired after 20+ years as a Network Administrator.
    DeeDee and her husband Randy have been together for 30 years.  They have 3 children (Christoper, Brandon, and Christina) and 7 grandchildren (Jayce, Brighton, Luke, Tanner, Ty, James, and Kaydee).
    In her spare time, DeeDee enjoys golfing, old TV westerns, working out at the gym, playing cards, and just staying active.
