Christine Leavor
Guard -

Chris joined the VFW Auxiliary in 1983 under the eligibility of her husband. She was elected as a Trustee at her very first meeting of the Little Valley Auxiliary to VFW Post 8734.  She later served as Auxiliary President in 1986 and again in 1987.  Since then, she has held the office of Treasurer for longer than she can remember.
In 1992 Chris was elected as the Cattaraugus-Allegany County Council President. After serving as Council President, she began serving as the Council Secretary, a position she held until the County Councils were disbanded in 2023.
Chris was elected as District Six President in 2002 and currently serves as its Treasurer and Membership Chairman.
On the Department level, Chris has held several chairmanships; to include Youth Activities, Legislative, Chief-of-Staff/Extension and Revitalization, Mentoring (receiving a first-place National citation), and Membership (receiving the National Department membership Award #2 in 2021-2022).  She is also currently serving as the 2025-2026 Membership Chairman. Chris was appointed as Department Secretary by President Lisa Raplee in 2023 and has served in that capacity until June 2026.  She was elected Department Guard at the Department Convention in Albany in June 2025.
When she isn’t doing Auxiliary "stuff” she enjoys crocheting, reading, going to the casino, and bowling which she does twice a week during the season.  She also enjoys golf, but she really isn’t any good at it!
Chris is a retired Elementary Teacher and makes her home in Franklinville with her husband, Past State Commander Harold "Mick” Leavor. She has two children, Catharyn and Cash Campbell, a bonus son, Michael, four grandchildren Shawn, Mathew, Jacinda, Danica, and one great-granddaughter Rhyder. All are Life Members of the VFW Auxiliary, except Michael (a VFW member) and Rhyder who isn’t yet old enough.
