Auxiliary 8726 adopted a platoon and after they returned, the platoon visited the Post and Auxiliary. Here is the report from Auxiliary President Brittany Tierson of the reunion:
The Platoon we adopted last year, returned home and 6 members came down to spend the weekend with us. Captain Duncan presented me with The Army Patriotic Service Award as
well as the flag we had sent with them before they left. They also
presented our members with a nice plaque recognizing the group effort.
We sent over 100 packages over 7 months and made other platoons jealous
of the fact that Captain Duncan needed a pick up truck on multiple
occasions to go and get the packages from mail call.
Our Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans welcomed these soldiers with such love
and truly was a full circle moment to sit and talk deployments and
guide these current military members to their next steps when eligible
to join the VFW.
